The basic elements of social and emotional learning (SEL) as described by the Collaborative for Academic, Social and Emotional Learning (CASEL), and the ways in which the visual and performing arts can be utilized in the context of classroom SEL are explored in this module. Program guides and other resources from CASEL are included. Social and emotional learning lessons and activities that correlate with art disciplines are provided in addition to downloadable and online resources for instruction and application. An integrated lesson planning worksheet that incorporates SEL competencies is also available as a download.
